In its golden age, Lisbon gained a reputation as the eighth wonder of the world. Today, after decades of a long slumber, there is excitement again in this luminous city. Lisbon welcomes its visitors to its doorstep and we found a bright, restored fresh city.

In the late 40's, a philanthropist and art collector, Ricardo do Espirito Santo Silva bought Lisbon's Azurara Place and made it the headquarters for his Museum of Decorative Arts. On our visit we visited furniture workshops and saw the incredible craftsmen at work restoring furniture and creating magnificent Portuguese rugs.
