![]() During the cold winter months when our outdoor gardens seem miles away, a great alternative can be a "Tabletop Garden". They're quick and easy to do and appropriate anytime of year.

1) Select a collection of bud vases, jars or even candle holders. 2) Place them on a tray (we enjoy using the Japanese lacquer trays since they have feet on them it gives your display a nice height.) But you can also use just the table top itself. 3) Go to your florist and buy one of each of your favorite flowers and then place them in their own unique vases. It's a great way to enjoy fresh flowers throughout the winter and certainly a lot less expensive then buying a big bouquet every week. Give it a try! |

Everyone enjoys black and white photos. There's a certain nostalgic romance that's evoked when we look at them, especially if they feature people we love. Recently, I had some photos taken with my daughter Meg. We selected a few to frame, but really were in love with them all. It was so hard to choose. So we decided to frame the contact sheet! This was a great idea because not only do we get to display the best photos, but also some of the funny outtakes which in their own right are just as charming. Next time you go to have a roll of film developed, ask them to print you a contact sheet. It will allow you to pre-select the images you want blown up, and will also leave you with a nice souvenir, fit for framing!
